The Navien NPE-210A2 is a high-efficiency condensing tankless water heater engineered for both residential and commercial applications. With an input capacity of 12,000 to 180,000 BTU per hour and a Uniform Energy Factor of 0.95, it provides dependable hot water while maintaining low energy costs. The unit supports up to 38.2 L per minute at a 1.7 °C rise, making it ideal for homes with multiple fixtures or businesses requiring steady hot water. Its compact, wall-hung design supports indoor or outdoor installation, and it is field convertible between natural gas and propane.
Designed with Navien’s ultra condensing technology and dual stainless steel heat exchangers, the NPE-210A2 also includes built-in recirculation via ComfortFlow® technology, minimizing hot water wait times. The unit features an intuitive EZNav™ control panel with built-in HotButton™ functionality, cascading capability for up to 12 common-vented units, and ½" gas line compatibility up to 731.5 cm. It’s compatible with NaviLink™ for remote control and can support space heating through the optional H2Air Kit.

Built-in recirculation system
Navien’s patented ComfortFlow ® system is the first to include a buffer tank, recirculation pump and fine-tuned controls into a tankless water heater, resolving the cold-water sandwich effect* and issues of minimal flow rates commonly found in other tankless water heaters.
* The “cold-water sandwich effect” is the undesired introduction of cold water into the hot water supply line on occasions of frequent on/off operations. (Measure Guideline: Transitioning to a Tankless Water heater, DOE, Sept.2012).
The built-in recirculation pump allows the NPE-A2 to recirculate water either through an external recirc line or through existing supply lines while using NaviCirc®, without the need for external pumps or controls. Disappointed with the quality
Had high hopes based on the reviews but our experience has been underwhelming. Missing a feature we assumed would be included based on the listing photos. Would think twice before buying this again.
Very pleased overall
This water heater has honestly exceeded what I expected for the price. The finish holds up well and hasn't shown any wear after regular use. Five stars from us, no hesitation.

A few quirks but okay
A solid middle-of-the-road option if you're not looking for premium features. It's a bit noisier than I'd like, especially at higher settings. We'll keep using it but wouldn't call it a standout.
